1) *The NBPD Chaplaincy is a volunteer, self-funded 501(c)(3) and exists to serve the officers and personnel of the New Braunfels Police Department. While we serve this agency, we are NOT employees of the New Braunfels Police Department or the City of New Braunfels.

2) Winners of raffled firearms MUST fulfill all State and Federal Regulations for owning and possessing a firearm. These include but not limited to the following:

  • Eligibility and Transfer: The firearm prize will be transferred in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. This transfer will be handled by an FFL dealer selected by the organization running the raffle. The winner must meet all legal eligibility requirements to own a firearm and complete the required ATF Form 4473.

  • Background check: The winner must pass a federal background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) before the firearm can be transferred.

  • Forfeiture: If the winner is unable to pass the background check, does not meet all legal requirements, or fails to claim the prize within the specified time period, they will forfeit all rights to the prize.

  • Non-transferable: The prize is non-transferable. The individual whose name is on the winning ticket must be the person to claim the prize.

  • Residence: The winner of a handgun must be a resident of the state where the transfer takes place. If the winner resides out of state, the prize must be shipped to an FFL in their state of residence, with all associated costs covered by the winner.

  • Liability: Upon legal transfer of the firearm, the winner assumes all liability and responsibility for its usage, storage, and handling. The organization running the raffle and the FFL dealer are not liable for the safe or unsafe functioning of the firearm once transferred.

  • Taxes and fees: The winner is solely responsible for any applicable federal, state, and local taxes, as well as any transfer or other fees associated with claiming the prize.

  • No warranty: The raffle organizer makes no warranties or guarantees regarding the condition, quality, or fitness of the firearm prize. Any issues with the prize are the sole responsibility of the manufacturer.

  • Void where prohibited: The raffle is void where prohibited by law.
